Parasailing

For sports fans, there is a great number of options when it comes to recreational activities. One of these recreational activities is parasailing. Also referred to as parascending, it involves a vehicle (in the general scenario, this vehicle is usually a boat) that is attached to a specially designed parachute. This parachute is termed on the technical front as parasail. The vehicle, most generally the boats (known more specifically as the parasail boats), have a person towing behind it. What happens next is that the boat drives off while it carries the parascender into the air. On some instance, when the boat has the capability (in terms of power and weight), even two or three people can parasail behind it on a simultaneous note. However it is a known fact for people who are acquainted with the sport of parasailing that a parascender (the one who parasails in relevance to the second name of parasailing) has a very minimal amount of control (which sometimes even translates into no control) over the parachute.

Basically a parasail is one of the most important pieces of parasailing equipment and is made up of five parts. The pilot is attached to the parasail with the help of a harness. On a technical front, the parasail is attached to the boat (or any other speeding vehicle for this matter of parasailing) with the help of a tow rope. In the primary state of affairs, this activity is only meant to be perceived and comprehended as an amusement ride and should not be confused with the sport of paragliding. The sport of parasailing has managed to create an international level of popularity and is famous all over the world. There are parasailing locations worldwide. As for the United States of America, Hawaii and Florida are two locations where this sport is immensely popular, thanks to the wonderful beaches in these places. Be it parasailing in Hawaii or parasailing in Florida, the entire concept is to enjoy the sport and make the most out of it. In Hawaii parasailing is as much fun as it is in Florida parasailing spots. Specially parasailing at Daytona beach, Florida is real fun for all those who choose to parasail on this particular parasailing spot.

The history of parasailing is also lined with the concept of land-based parasailing. For instance in the Northern parts of Europe, specially in Finland, the sport has gained the status of an official one, where land based parasailing competitions are held on a regular basis. In Finland, this sport of parasailing was introduced back in the decade of the nineties and by the time the new millennium reached, this sport of parasailing had gained worldwide acclaim and even got the first land based parasailing competition introduced in the year 2004, which gave rise to keeping records of parasailing statistics.

The only difference in land based parasailing and water based parasailing is the fact that instead of the boat, which is an integral part of parasail accessories in the case of water parasailing, land based parasailing involves the use of a speed car. Both versions of parasailing have their own sets of dangers and their own shares of fun and depends upon the choice of the individual as to which version of the sport is he/ she fond of. However no matter what version a person chooses in the course of parasailing, he/ she should always incorporate safety precautions to avoid the dangers of parasailing. Specially when you go to buy parasailing accessories, be it a parasail winch or a parasailing boat (used parasail boats are also available at cheaper rates for those who can’t afford new ones), one should never compromise quality for price. Overall, parasailing is an interesting sport, which entails great fun for seasoned players as well as beginners.
